The Skysdraper of Telecommunications and Telegraph Office (Urząd Telekomunikacyjny i Telegraficzny) was built in Warsaw in the years 1928-1934. The tower, situated on the corner of Nowgorodzka street and St. Barbara street is 42.5 meters high and it was one of the tallest buildings in the panorama of the pre-war Polish capital. Using steal construction was a very modern realisation taken straight from the United States of America. The steal construction survived the war and has been under renovation for many years. Film footage shows working at height and a dog climbing up and down the ladder on one of the building’s floors. These shots obviously remind of famous photographs by Charles Ebbets which documented the work of skyscrapers’ builders in New York.
