One hundred and twenty competitors arrived at the start of the street race from plac Zamkowy [Castle Square] to Belweder. An impressive run down the streets of the ruined capital, organized by the editing office of “Kurier Codzienny” [The Illustrated Courier]. The first across the finish line was Wacław Feryniec, a student of the Officer’s School of Armoured Weapons in Modlin. Out of the one hundred and twenty runners only one didn’t finish the course. All the others ended the race in a great form. The winner received a “Leica” camera from minister Wincenty Rzymowski. The street run organized by “Kurier Codzienny” was a beautiful manifestation of popular support for Polish sport.
